I interviewed Mr. Ra twice and recorded the Arkestra once, all back in the 88.9 days. Attended too many performances to count.

Do we know where the interviews are?

So... No outer space recordings then?

Russ DID do his interview with Ra while on Saturn.

The interviews are on YouTube. The recording was released on Saturn (both the label and the planet). So, yes, outer space ways recordings!

Hard to believe that this Chicago concert was almost 50 years ago. It is like traveling back in time!

It really is, old timer. We saw many of the gigs of this era! This is particularly good, don't you think?

An excellent performance and recording!

Jerry is one of the foremost Ra experts on this or any other planet. He released many wonderful recordings by Ra and the Arkestra on Evidence Records. And sold Ra releases with hand drawn covers by the Arkestra at his store, 3rd Street no need to be modest about those accJazz.

It was an all day concert at Yankee Stadium that George Wein did as a tribute to Louis Armstrong on July 4, 1972. Many performers, including Ella and Ra.

Was just listening to David "Dawg" Grisman's version of Minor Swing yesterday from Hot Dawg (1979) lp. One of the many times he played that.

All star quintet lineup that year. Tony Rice, Darol Anger, Mike Marshall, Todd Phillips and Dawg.

Grisman puts out quality releases. Digital era now especially. Very dedicated to good sound. Dawg 90 is another great one (11-12 years later).

Good biz, does his own Acoustic Disc music label. Very important to have control over your product.

Hot Dawg has these great double mandolin harmonies moments. And I believe some tracks have triple harmony w/fiddle, mando and mando.

Used to have those 2 lps recorded on a Maxell tape back to back. First intro to the Dawg world (save for bootlegs of Great American String Band as well as Old & In The Way). Grisman always does his own thing. Dips toes in many waters. Sometimes goes back to traditional Bluegrass too.

My friend saw Grisman / Rowan Earth Opera in Asbury Park nineteen sixty something, they opened for the Doors. He was in Vietnam and sometimes prone to illusions. Looking forward to this upcoming Doors live to see if I can conjure a feeling.

Used to have this Doors Sweden release on cassette back in the day. Great "bootleg". FM radio broadcast in Europe I believe. Jim gets wild and crazy during the Five to One breakdown spoken word part ha.

Yes, this was a famous bootleg, absolutely. It has been mixed from the original tapes by Bruce Botnick.

Well I am glad many get to hear and purchase this but... they really made the sound harsh. Especially Jim's vocals. Distorted and trebly. The good ol cassette was better and bassier in my memory

Ya Jim really growled the edited line and emphasized it! I remember all the little details on this tape... wow... the intro w/the tuning up. Ray's background vocals here & there (I think Ray gets a full lead vocal on one track on this show...)

3 live shows recenty released= the matrix 67. berkeley 1970 and this , only 1 snd show left. that vancover 70, a very slow long show with many problems with the band
