Good morning creatures abound!
Chef Emeril Legasse 10:11:30 AM
Morning Brian! BAM! Are there any recent developments or discoveries in the world of dinosaurs? I know some kids who love dinosaur fun facts and I'd love to share! Thanks!
Zapshifter X 10:13:56 AM
Good morning.!
Brian (host) 10:21:26 AM
Good morning Chef and Zapshifter! You know what, I have a dinosaur-sized void in my being this morning, I think you are really on to something there.

Thanks for playing this album, DJ Brian. My current new favorite. 🍳 Good Morning, all
Chef Emeril Legasse 10:31:44 AM
Do you know why critters like the spotted lanternfly and cicada have red eyes?
Chef Emeril Legasse 10:41:48 AM
Thank you so much for the WONDERFUL dinosaur info!! That was great!!
Readie Righteous 10:42:46 AM
Hi Brian, Chef, Christine, Zapshifter! Dood morning!
Readie Righteous 10:42:56 AM
DUUUDE morning lol
Brian (host) 10:43:02 AM
Good morning Christine, so glad you're into this great Ethiopian treasure!
Brian (host) 10:43:13 AM
Emeril, you are so welcome! Let me look into this red eye mystery too!
Brian (host) 10:43:20 AM
And Readie, it is a pleasure to have you here!
Readie Righteous 10:43:45 AM
Thanks Brian! Great to see (& hear) you!
Chef Emeril Legasse 10:44:23 AM
Hey readie! Totally meant to BAM in your listener chat the other day, so here ya go: BAM
Richard from Rocky Hill 10:44:27 AM
Hi Brian! I'm so sorry to be coming late to the chat. Thanks so much for talking about the serious and growing Spotted Lanternfly infestations, and linking to the August issue of the Montgomery News with my article on it.
Brian (host) 10:44:57 AM
Woo, glad to feature it Richard! Thanks yourself for spreading the word!
Readie Righteous 10:45:03 AM
Hey Chef! Bam-a-lam, my friend!!
Readie Righteous 10:45:41 AM
Love this flute action!
Brian (host) 10:46:21 AM
Yes, Melanie is a champ! That whole album is magical
Richard from Rocky Hill 10:46:26 AM
I do hope it will inform your many listeners and boost efforts to stomp out (literally!) the invasive Spotted Lanternfly which threatens to do serious damage to many American vegetables and fruits (especially grapes).
Readie Righteous 10:46:53 AM
Must check Melanie out, thx Brian, good stuff!
Richard from Rocky Hill 10:51:21 AM
Also thanks for the dinosaur research news, and noting these creatures perennial fascination for children. I once attended a talk by the great contemporary paleontologist Jack Horner. Early on, Jack told the adults, "If you have any questions, ask a child sitting near you. They know more than you do. Let me repeat that: Children know more about dinosaurs than grownups do."
Christine 🦊 10:52:08 AM
Morning Readie, Richard, Zapshifter, and Chef!👨‍🍳 BAM
Richard from Rocky Hill 10:52:45 AM
G'morning Christine, Readie & all!
Chef Emeril Legasse 10:52:57 AM
Joanna Newsom kinda maybe reminded me of Kate Bush??
Readie Righteous 10:54:18 AM
Hi Richard! Good to see you! Christine, Chef and Zapshifter - great group in the chat this mornin'!!
Chef Emeril Legasse 10:58:07 AM
Ahhh right thank you! I made some shirts earlier in the spring with brood x and SLFs on them and totally forgot that I too have the cicadas red eyes and the SLFs that small red patch!
Christine 🦊 11:02:01 AM
Chef, the t-shirts you created sound very cool.
Readie Righteous 11:06:16 AM
Space is the place!!
Chef Emeril Legasse 11:09:45 AM
Thanks Christine! I was hand-making merch on thrifted tshirts! Didn't hear about wprb's recent request for designs until it was too late haha, but maybe I'll still send something in 👀
Brian (host) 11:10:01 AM
A+ to all! Alien hypothesis: we can't find any UFOs because all the extraterrestrials are bugs. They're intelligent enough to visit us, for sure, but between hibernating for 17 years at a time and eating grapes they don't have much time to visit
Brian (host) 11:11:10 AM
Chef, I am sure your art would be admired regardless of submission deadline!
Chef Emeril Legasse 11:11:17 AM
Here's the brood x vs. slf shirt that i made using a hand-cut stencil and fabric paint! (this isn't intended to be self promotion!!) https://m.facebook.com/photo.php/?fbid=3744268969017159
Chef Emeril Legasse 11:11:59 AM
Aw shucks thanks Brian! I have a design in my head featuring a big gumbo pot and "WPR-BAM!!!"
Chef Emeril Legasse 11:13:32 AM
Those branches in the design are indeed tree of heaven, with 13 🤘leaves on each side
Brian (host) 11:13:44 AM
Having that Show-down T-shirt would define a whole epoch of my fashion personality! So cool
Christine 🦊 11:15:15 AM
@Chef, this design is 🔥. BAM! Did you sell out? If not, I would order one. 👕 💯
Christine 🦊 11:16:09 AM
@Brian, I like that alien hypothesis. They're already here...we just think they're bugs...
Chef Emeril Legasse 11:21:40 AM
Thanks Brian and Christine! I had been making them one at a time or by request, but kinda stopped ever since I've gotten busier during the summer (each shirt, especially the showdown hoedown, took a while to make). Maybe I'll put it on redbubble rather than hand making them- I'll reach out about updates! :)
Christine 🦊 11:22:35 AM
@Chef, please keep us updated. I liked that design on FB. 👍
Chef Emeril Legasse 11:23:03 AM
I saw! Will do, And thank you 🐞🦋🦗♥️
Brian (host) 11:35:23 AM
In complete seriousness, Chef, I would be very grateful for that! Thanks for your artistry!
Readie Righteous 11:52:02 AM
@Brian - I hope gulls don't steal hair from human heads down the shore...I do know they steal Fritos from human hands....yikes!
Brian (host) 11:52:37 AM
Gulls are so brave, I bet if they want any they will go after it! Just don't tell them about the titmice doing it and maybe it won't occur to them.
Readie Righteous 11:54:08 AM
@Brian - I won't tell if you don't!! lol!
Christine 🦊 11:54:11 AM
Gulls have chutzpah!
Readie Righteous 11:55:15 AM
@Christine, yes - they once opened a ziploc bag of cheetos from a big tote while I was in the water, and helped themselves!!!
Chef Emeril Legasse 11:56:30 AM
Thanks @Brian, for the kind words and for a great show!
Christine 🦊 11:56:52 AM
They have audacity!!
Readie Righteous 11:57:19 AM
Great show, @Brian - thx for the cool science! and music!! Have a great Sunday everyone!
Readie Righteous 11:57:40 AM
@Christine! I love it!!! so true!!!
Christine 🦊 11:58:34 AM
Thank you, Brian 🙏 for another thought-provoking show. Great chatting with you all! 👤💬👤
Richard from Rocky Hill 12:00:18 PM
I must be skeptical about multi-learning styles. I definitely learn skills and procedures MUCH better "hand on", kinesthetically. If I'm just visually shown I don't retain it. That's my 2 cents. All best!
Brian (host) 12:00:44 PM
Wonderful to have you all along today - thanks for your suggestions and making it fun! See you all next week!
Brian (host) 12:01:11 PM
Thanks, Richard! I definitely think "kinestetic" learning is probably the easiest to leave behind, and we'd do well to broaden our approaches to include it.
Brian (host) 12:01:23 PM
Alas, as a voice on the radio, I have auditory capabilities only...
