Honored to be so beknighted! Thanks for tuning in Richard!
Richard from Rocky Hill 11:07:33 AM
Very interesting about the mini-teenie robots. If I understood it correctly, the group artificial intelligence of a cluster if them is caused by the geometry of the world around them, which channels them into a unit that subsequently operates cooperatively.
Brian (host) 11:08:07 AM
That is spot on, Richard! It's the interaction between the robots and the circumstances in which they are placed that leads to complicated behavior.
Brian (host) 11:08:46 AM
It's interesting to think how, if you wanted robots to navigate a particular type of environment, they might have different base behaviors. An office-exploring swarm would move a lot differently than a forest-exploring swarm, maybe

Richard from Rocky Hill 11:42:28 AM
To follow up on your mini-robots speculation, yes! If they were navigating a forest vs. and office, they would likely "evolve" different behaviors; this could be the start of two different mini-robot "species," at least behavorially. Thanks!
Brian (host) 12:00:55 PM
Absolutely! Glad to provoke a speculative thought or two. I hope you both and everyone else out there has a great remainder of the weekend, thanks for tuning in today!
