Hello to all friends in your respective corners of the Earth!
DSM 10:07:43 AM
Good morning Brian. These vibes are just right for making me breakfast.
Ookla the Mok 10:07:57 AM
Hello earthlings. Greetings from Krypton

Brian (host) 10:09:46 AM
Good morning (or perhaps other time of day on Krypton) all!
DSM 10:15:53 AM
Yeah, the storm here was like being on a Universal Studios "haunted house" film or something. Lighting just every half second, sheets of rain changing direction seemingly randomly, was crazy
Brian (host) 10:23:40 AM
I have not experienced such a long, intense storm in a long time! I don't now how debilitating it was far and wide, but it looked like PSE&G registered a lot of power outages
Ookla the Mok 10:27:26 AM
Great track
Ookla the Mok 10:27:41 AM

Our power was out from about 11:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
Brian (host) 10:41:37 AM
Interesting to hear! I always wonder if these outages are really just sporadic downed power lines, or whether something more centralized goes down
Chef Emeril Legasse 10:46:57 AM
Good stuff 🤘👨‍🍳
Guelo @blindpeteandthespacecadets 10:57:52 AM
science! love these facts and updates
Brian (host) 10:58:17 AM
Thanks for tuning in Emeril and Guelo! Glad you're liking the tunes and info!
Guelo @blindpeteandthespacecadets 10:58:27 AM
and the music :)
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ 11:02:06 AM
In my neighborhood, the power lines are buried. But the area outside has above ground lines. Didn't notice any sign of downed lines this morning.
Guelo @blindpeteandthespacecadets 11:02:29 AM
woah... this is what I imagine the covid sounds like as its trying to get past my blood brain barrier...
Brian (host) 11:04:09 AM
@Dave: I guess a few bottlenecks cause widespread outage if damaged. I don't think there's much redundancy built in...
Brian (host) 11:04:25 AM
@Guelo: The indomitable Jeff Snyder captures it all!
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ 11:06:48 AM
I recall during Superstorm Sandy, while my neighborhood was out for 5 days, another only a mile away never lost power.

Thank you Dave! Compiling all this information never goes seamlessly, it seems...
DSM 11:57:52 AM
Very interesting, informative, and thought provoking show as always. Thanks for researching and sharing all this knowledge, have a great week!
Brian (host) 12:00:16 PM
Thank you for being here! Glad it becomes food for thought. There is a lot to learn out there!
