good morning Brian as soon as u began that discussion it made me think of ice nine i just reread that Vonnegut last year & it’s an amazing book - one of my favs

Same for me! Vonnegut takes it in quite an absurd direction but brings up the perils of totally unfettered, dissassociated-from-society scientific exploration

Very interesting to hear about astroid mining, something I’d never thought much about as I figured it was far off, but hearing the logistics and costs makes me realize someone like Bezos motivation to go to space would definitely be to be the worlds first trillionaire

my initial thought is wouldn’t b a private space miner but rather a state enterprise like the chinese space program- u certainly gave us a lot of food for thought 💭

I think you're right, DSM! For the moment, it seems like a great way to further enrich the rich. I see the long-term benefits to society, perhaps, but that's not the reason we'll do it nowadays
